From Humble Conversations to a Broader Calling.
It began as simple conversations between a former journalist and strangers united by a common faith. We would talk about how each of us came to believe in Jesus Christ, and what that faith meant in our daily lives. Over time, those casual exchanges grew into something far deeper.
What started as genuine curiosity and camaraderie gradually developed into journalistic-style interviews, originally intended for a major UK broadcaster’s religious programming. Though the programme itself never came to fruition, the conversations continued; becoming richer, more expansive, and more heartfelt with each passing year.
In 2025, after six years of reflection, dialogue, interviews, and podcasts, A Commissioned Heart was born.
Our aim is simple: to share real stories from people at different points in their faith journey. There is profound encouragement in hearing from others who have walked, or are still walking, through the same valleys and mountaintops you may be facing. These stories are candid and unsanitised, offering an authentic glimpse into the lived reality of faith.
We share them not only to strengthen fellow believers but also to reach those curious about Christianity - highlighting the difference between mere religion and truly taking up one’s cross. The testimonies come from around the world, across cultures and life stages, reminding us that while our walk with Christ is deeply personal, it is also universally shared.

A Commissioned Heart stands as a testimony to this ongoing journey: a reflection of how faith evolves, matures, and deepens as we walk the path of discipleship. Each story is shared honestly from where the contributor is in their faith at the time of writing. While we recognise that our understanding grows and changes over time, we believe it is important to share these accounts as they are, in their authenticity. Our prayer is that, in God’s perfect timing, these testimonies will reach those who need them most, sparking faith, renewing hope, and pointing hearts towards Christ.
